50 Essentials and Summer Intensive
“Giving the people what they want isn’t nearly as powerful as teaching people what they need.”
Most of you know that I bleed black and gold, not 49er or Falcon red. So having witnessed firsthand the devastating loss in the NFC Championship game, I found myself searching for solace in the ensuing days, like so many other New Orleanians. And I will admit wholeheartedly that I feel energized and galvanized every time I read these lines from the letter that Drew Brees wrote to the Who Dat Nation: “Pour that passion and emotion into your families and communities. Inspire others with your focus & determination and positive outlook.” I opened this studio in 2010 determined to teach people in our community the value of internal space, stillness, and silence for creating a balanced state of being. And nearly nine years later, I still feel passionate about sharing these techniques and practices that both nourish and sustain a feeling that I can only attempt to describe in words — radiant wellness.
I have decided that this year, instead of running another Advanced Studies/Teacher Training Program, I will re-focus my energy toward offering more workshops, intensives, series, and immersions so as to make the teachings more accessible and approachable to more people. So stay tuned for more information on topics like Ageless Alignment and The Art of Yogic Breathing, and keep your eyes peeled for announcements about new events, like a fall retreat in Florida. In the meantime, come join me this Sunday, February 24 from 11:30am-1:30pm for one of my favorite extended practices ever, 50 Essential Poses. That’s right, we move through all 50 poses on the FSY syllabus in two hours, and the effect it has on your body/mind is dazzling. This class typically fills up, so be sure to reserve your spot now by clicking on the big button below. Oh, and if you haven’t already heard about the Summer Intensive that I’ll be conducting in Tulum from June 12-16, then you should check that out too. This will be a fabulous immersion experience that I designed especially for people who have always been interested in a teacher training program, but who lack the time that it typically takes to commit to one. It is also an excellent opportunity for people who already teach to earn continuing education credits through Yoga Alliance. And of course, if you just want to experience maximal rejuvenation by journeying through the inherent, natural beauty of inner and outer landscapes, then this would be a great retreat for you too.
