Core Workshop this Saturday
“Just as the right inner state is clearly expressed in the symbolism of the harmoniously functioning body, so inner malformations appear as bodily malformations. These have one thing in common: lack of center. Lack of center implies either that a man is anchored too firmly in his upper body or that he lacks anchorage altogether. Only where a firm middle region exists is man’s entire psycho-physical state properly entered.”
-Karlfried Graf Durckheim
We’ve had innumerable requests for a workshop on this vital topic, and I believe it’s because we all intuit the importance of having a strong core, yet we are perplexed as to how we can activate and access it. Come join Adero Lewis this Saturday, September 23 from 1:30-3:30pm for an insightful and experiential exploration into the mysteries of core strength. Titled Come Back To Your Center: Developing Strength and Stability Through Core Activation, this workshop will clear up common confusions about what “center” and “core” even mean, and it will also provide you with surefire strategies for tapping into them as felt sensations rather than trite concepts. Please do not think that you need a so-called “strong core” in order to participate! The objective is not to get you into fancy, strength-oriented poses or to prepare you for an imaginary yoga regional competition. On the contrary, the point is to help you reconnect to the epicenter of your organism so that you can re-experience an inner state of stability, poise, and integration. Reserve your spot now.
In other ‘Come Back To Your Center’ news, remember that Meg Whitbread and I will be leading a weekend retreat right here at the studio on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1 from 11:30am-4:30pm. Each class will be a luxurious journey into body, breath, and being during which we will use the best of Yoga and Yamuna Body Rolling techniques to create the appropriate conditions for inner quiet. You can sign up for either day or both days by clicking on that same orange button above!
And finally, have I mentioned yet that we got an app?! Search for “My FSY” in the Apple App or Google Play stores and download to get all the latest notifications about workshops, deals, and classes. Hope to see you soon!
