New Teacher, New Classes
“To teach is to create a space in which the community of truth is practiced.”
I am very happy to announce the addition of a new teacher to our FSY team. Olivia Bowers is a native New Orleanian who brings both extensive knowledge and a sincere curiosity about human movement to her classes. She is a graduate of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts High School and the Boston Conservatory, and she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Her passion for yoga and its immense healing properties shines through her teaching and emanates from her being. Be sure to come check out her unique blend of alignment and movement in Freret Street Flow at 4:30pm on Wednesdays.
In other news, we’ve heeded the request for more Level 1+ classes and added another one to the schedule. Come work on the fundamental principles of grounding and centering with Tamarin Hennebury at 9:30am on Fridays. Tamarin’s down-to-earth, calming presence and her expertise as an occupational therapist who provides treatment for cancer, auto immune disorders, and chronic pain using yoga and meditation techniques make her a potent teacher and a stellar guide on this path. I’m sure that everyone will be very excited to now have more opportunities to study with her.
Hope to see you in class soon!
