New Year’s Practices
“You must learn one thing:
the world was made to be free in.
Give up all the other worlds
except the one to which you belong.
Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
confinement of your aloneness
anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive
is too small for you.”
― David Whyte
This is a quick note to remind you that although our normal schedule has been modified during the holiday stretch, we still have several class offerings that will guide you back to the sanctity of inner freedom and belonging. This Monday, December 31 from 4:00-5:30pm, Shelley Boles will be leading a special extended practice called Reflections and Intentions. Combining movement, breath, and poetry, Shelley will help you create enough internal space to reflect back on what you’ve learned from 2018 and what you’d like to carry forward into 2019. Then on Tuesday, January 1 from 11:00am-12:30pm, Tamarin Hennebury will be teaching her annual New Year’s Yoga class, which she has dubbed “Ring in the New and Bring Back the Old.” Tamarin will use some age-old Hatha yoga techniques to help you usher in the new year with steadiness and lightness of being.
And remember that Keith Werhan will be offering another one of his Beginner’s Crash Courses next Sunday, January 27 from 11:30am-1:30pm. This is a terrific opportunity for people who have always been curious about yoga to learn the fundamentals in a safe, supportive environment. It’s also a fabulous way to jump start your practice if you’ve been off the mat for a while. You can reserve your spot and read more about the class by clicking on the big Workshops tab below.
Happy New Year! Hope to see you soon!
