New Year’s Practices

“Though the struggle to balance rotations in our hip joints so we may sit effortlessly in Lotus Pose may seem important at times, it is clear that most important is relationship with others because that’s where the emotions — our ability to use and see through self-image and those things we value and that give life meaning — come into play. Half the world is given to us, but the other half is created by how we frame it.”
-Richard Freeman

Greetings Everyone!

As 2016 draws to a close, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for making the FSY community so strong, supportive, friendly, and fun. The relationships that we form while consciously breathing in the same room are special. Even though we co-exist much of the time in silence, we all communicate all the time by sharing in the spirit of this place, whose main intention is help us be free of our superficial self so that more of our essential nature can shine through. Thank you for your love and support.

Remember that we are still running classes as normally scheduled, so if you’d like to restore order to your body/mind during the holiday busy-ness, then come on in! Also, we have two special classes that will help you reflect upon this past year and set positive intentions for the new one. Join Adero Moore for a New Year’s Eve Practice from 4:00-5:15pm. This all-levels class is the perfect way to include wellness in your celebratory endeavors. Then on New Year’s Day from 10:00-11:30am, Tamarin Hennebury will be teaching another all levels class that features her signature sequence of invigorating poses, followed by restorative poses, followed by a quiet and uplifting meditation. Sign up for either of these classes on our website.

Finally, I felt so good after the Core Cleanse workshop that I taught the day after Thanksgiving that I’ve decided to run it again this weekend. Join me this Sunday from 1:00-3:00pm for another edition of this post-holiday favorite. We will wring out the abdominal organs in order to ring in the New Year, and then we will practice some of the more esoteric techniques from the Hatha yoga tradition to further purify the subtle layers of our being. This class will leave you feeling clear, calm, and amazingly light. Reserve your spot now.

Hope to see you soon. Happy New Year!
