Self-Care Series and other Mother’s Day gift ideas
– Mary Whitehouse
I don’t know about you, but I felt pretty wiped out after attending 6 out of 7 Jazz Fest days. Long stints in the hot sun, the chattiness of entertaining out-of-town guests, and the hedonistic drive to soak up all of the great music have collectively replenished my spirit and yet depleted my body. Fortunately the yoga practice is always there with open arms, ever-ready to steer us back toward that cherished state of wholeness and equilibrium.
So I wanted to let you know about exciting events at the studio this weekend, which couldn’t be more perfectly timed. Meg Whitbread, a faculty member of FSY’s Advanced Studies/Teacher Training Program, is back in town to share with us the marvelous self-care system of Yamuna Body Rolling. Several of you were fortunate enough to experience her teaching back in February and prior to that in the early fall. Suffice it to say that Meg has an incredibly keen way of seeing and understanding the human body, and her presentation of this marvelous self-care system leaves you feeling nurtured, inspired, and re-calibrated at a very deep level. We are lucky to have her teaching a 3-part series this weekend. You can sign up for one individual session or the whole thing by clicking the big button below!
But that’s not all! I will also be teaching our monthly “Begin at the Beginning” workshop this Saturday morning at 11am. New Year’s Resolutions have come and gone, Lent has passed, and Festival season has reached it’s climax. Now is the time to either begin your yoga practice if you’ve always been curious about it, or to recommit to it by revisiting the fundamentals.
Are you looking for Mother’s Day gift ideas? How about treating one of the moms in your life to a private lesson, or to the self-massage Yamuna workshop this weekend, or better yet, to a whole weekend of refreshment and renewal at our summer retreat in Covington? We still have spaces left on what promises to be an amazing weekend retreat. Check out more details by scrolling to the bottom of the Weekend Workshops tab at the middle of this newsletter. Hope to see you soon!
