Self-Care Series This Weekend

Greetings Everyone!

Many of you are probably familiar with the expression that Jon Kabat-Zinn coined for his famous book on how to cultivate mindfulness in everyday life, Wherever You Go, There You Are. It’s such a shockingly simple concept that one can very easily overlook its importance and its ramifications. We all tend to forget that when we show up for yoga practice, we are bringing with us a wide variety of habitual movement patterns that are un-examined and often times disharmonious. That is typically the root of the problem when we are frustrated by a pose: we try harder hoping that something will change, but in actuality it is the way we are trying that is keeping us locked out. So then, how can we free ourselves from old habits and compensatory patterns? Yamuna Body Rolling has been so useful to my personal practice for getting underneath these imbalances and restoring my body to a neutral, baseline state. We are so lucky to haveMeg Whitbread in town this weekend to teach us this fabulous self-care system!
