Wellness Gras 2017
“Health is not just the absence of a disease. It’s an inner joyfulness that should be ours all the time, a state of positive well-being.”
I hope that this newsletter finds you well, but just in case you’re at the end of your Mardi Gras rope, feeling the full force of sugar, alcohol, and revelry overload in your system, then I wanted to remind you about several upcoming series at the studio that are guaranteed to restore your sense of well-being. My dear friend and colleague, Meg Whitbread, is travelling to New Orleans from her home base in Florida for a whole six weeks. Famous for her keen eye, angelic hands, and light-hearted humor, Meg will be offering classes that feature her favorite self-care modality, Yamuna Body Rolliing. If you still haven’t had the pleasure of attending one of these classes, then do yourself a favor and sign up for at least one just to experience it for yourself. It’s like self-massage, only you are in control of the intensity and you gain a considerable amount of awareness about your own body mechanics because, unlike being on a massage table, you are engaged in the process every step of the way. Meg has designed the following series based on her observation of what the majority of students in our FSY community need:
*Athlete’s Series (March 4, 18, 25 from 1:30-3:30pm)
*Freedom and Stability Series (March 5 & 26 from 11am-2pm)
*Shoulder and Hip Series (March 10,17, 24, 31 from 7-9pm)
*Sustainable Movement for the Aging Process (Sundays and Wednesdays March 5, 8, 15, 22, 26, 29 from 2:45-3:45pm)
*Foot Fitness Series (March 4, 18, 25 from 3:45-5pm)

Happy end of Carnival! Hope to see you soon!
